Speed boat operator stabbed to death over borrowed knife

A speed boat operator who borrowed a knife from a vendor to peel fruits and failed to return it was stabbed to death with the same knife yesterday at Supenaam.

Dead is Stanley Bovell, a speed boat operator of Good Hope, Essequibo Coast.

According to a police press release, the incident occurred at about 3.10 pm. Bovell borrowed the knife from a vendor to peel some fruits. He failed to return it and the two men ended up in an argument during which Bovell was stabbed. He was rushed to the Suddie Hoapital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police have taken the man into custody and the murder weapon was seized.
