Joint Services hosting Xmas concerts

The Guyana Police Force Bands and the Joint Services Choir will be hosting a carol tour for the Christmas season at a number of venues countrywide.

In a press release the Force said the tour, which will entail performances by both its military and steel bands, is intended to enhance police/ community relations and spread Christmas cheer. Today, a joint performance will be held at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital at 9.30am; the steel band will perform at the Wales Police Station at 9.30am followed by a joint concert at the Bank of Guyana at 10.30am; a steel band performance at the Bagotville Community Centre entrance at 10.30am followed by another joint recital at Merriman’s Mall at 11.15am and a steel band piece at the Vreed-en-Hoop Stelling at 11.45am.

On Wednesday a joint concert will be hosted at 7pm at the National Communications Network’s Night of Carolling. Thursday’s schedule entails a military band recital at Leonora, opposite the police station, at 9.30am; at Stewartville, opposite the Congregational Church, at 10.30am; at Uitvlugt Estate Road at 11.30am and at the Parika Market at 12.45pm. On December 17 a steel band concert will be held at the Stabroek Market from 9.30am and at the Bourda Market at 10.45am. A concert will also be hosted at the Plaisance Market at 11.45am followed by a joint recital at the Georgetown Public Hospital at 9.30am; at the City Hall Compound at 10.30am and at the Amerindian Hostel at 2.30pm. On December 18 a joint performance will be held at the Guyana Prison Services headquarters at 10am. The December 19 roster entails a joint concert at the Mahaica Hospital at 9.15 am; at the Mahaica Market at 10.15am, at the Mahaicony Hospital at 11.30am and at the Mahaicony Market at 12.30pm. For December 21 the roster entails joint recitals at the Guyana Fire Service headquarters at 9.30am; at the Immigration Office at 10am, at the Office of the Prime Minister at 10.45am and at the Office of the President at 1.30pm.

On Christmas Eve joint concerts will be held at the Ministry of Home Affairs at 9.30am and at Police headquarters at 11.15 am.

Joint performances were held yesterday at the Soesdyke Junction at 9.30am, at Soesdyke-Ascension School at 11am, at the Grove/Diamond New Scheme junction at 11.45am and at Peters Hall – Harbour Bridge Mall – at 1pm.
