Woman, accomplice stick-up driver, steal cash, car

The Guyana Police Force has reiterated that women are becoming popular decoys in the commission of robberies after another woman was involved in the hijacking of a car from a taxi-driver.

The police said the woman hired Milton Hutson, 50, of Vlissengen Road to go to Charlestown. On arrival at the location the woman came out of the car and left the door open, after which a man confronted Hutson with a handgun. The man stole $8,000 from Hutson then he and the woman drove off with the car. The AT 192 Carina is estimated to cost $1.2M.

The police later found the car abandoned on the Nismes Public Road, West Bank Demerara. The battery had been removed from the vehicle. No arrest has been made but investigations are continuing.
