The Private Sector Commission’s statement that it supports the retention of the 16% VAT, given the comprehensive reform in the tax system, is in my opinion irresponsible and inimical to the interest of the Private Sector. The statement will serve to further hinder the Private Sector from becoming the main engine of growth in the national economy.
