Four armed men on Sunday night attacked and robbed Hemraj Hoolasie at his home in Number 64 Village, Corentyne, making off with jewellery valued at $1.3 million and $60,000.
Investigations revealed that Hoolasie, 44, along with Shardawattie Hoolasie and Devi Janack were at home when the men entered through an open door and held them at gunpoint.
And police said that investigations into an armed robbery committed on businessman Gladwyn Lall at Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara last Friday have led to the arrest of five men and the seizure of a boat and engine at River View, Ruimveldt, the following day. The men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
