It has been said that if a frog is dropped into a pot of hot water, it will immediately jump out. If the frog, however, is placed in a pot of cold water which is then very cunningly and gradually heated, the frog will happily swim around until it is boiled to death.
I fear that the same thing might once again happen to free access to information via the media in Guyana. The temperature is being upped almost unnoticeably. A sensitive thermometer will detect the slow but steady rise.
