On Tuesday 22nd of January 24, 2008, Mr. Lance Baptiste, Immediate Past President of the Guyana Teachers’ Union was on VCT 28 news urging teachers to recommit themselves to the GTU.
A few years ago I would have done so but I cannot do so now.
How can I recommit myself to the union when they signed a five year agreement providing for wage increases of 5% per year when the rate of inflation is now 13%?
How can I recommit myself to the GTU when there are accusations being made that the GTU’s books have not been audited for years? How can I recommit to the GTU when the union has said nothing about VAT?
Could Mr. Baptiste say?
