The body of an 80-year-old man was on Sunday night pulled out of an Avenue of the Republic trench.
Dead is Eustace McPherson. This newspaper was unable to ascertain where he lived. According to reports, the body was sighted in the canal some time before 10 pm on Sunday. Police were alerted and the body was pulled out. It is not clear how the elderly man ended up there. The body is at the Lyken’s Funeral Home.
