Man charged with wounding over ‘love affair’ attack

Trevor Kissoon also called Banister was on Tuesday placed on $75,000 bail for unlawfully and maliciously wounding Prem Lall on November 30 last year over a triangular love affair.

According to the defendant’s lawyer, Troy Deygoo, Kissoon should not be the accused since Lall went to Kissoon’s place of work and attacked him. He suffered a broken thumb, bruised ribs and ear.

The 37-year-old machinist of 529 Herstelling, East Bank Demerara left for home the said afternoon and was allegedly followed and attacked by Lall. They ended up in a scuffle where Lall sustained head injuries.

Deygoo pleaded for reasonable bail for his client.

The prosecution said the entire matter stemmed from an illicit triangular love affair, but did not oppose bail. The matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for February 7.
