Three arrested at Mahaica over roadway protest

Police arrested three men at Mahaica on Monday after a group of persons blocked the roadway at Lancaster with tyres and other obstacles, then set the material alight.

The men were seen among a group fleeing the scene after the police responded to a report. Police said they were caught and are now in custody. The fire was extinguished by the Guyana Fire Service which also cleared the roadway, according to a police release.
