The usual palliatives but no solutions

Dear Editor,

First the PPP will declare the day of burials a “national day of mourning”. That they have already done. Next the President will announce that the surviving head of each home will be given a pension or grant (not even a good amount but a meagre sum) and that the education of the children will be taken care of. His Excellency will then say that a package has been developed and that it would include that the road to Lusignan Pasture will be built up, electricity and water will be provided to the village. The government will also improve or build up the people’s homes.

This is what the President is good at, not solving issues. By the end of February 2008, the whole incident will be forgotten.

Yours faithfully,
