What about the marginalization under Burnham?

Dear Editor,

Father Malcolm Rodrigues in his interview headlined “Time to talk to the terrorists” (08.02.11) said among other things that young black people here feel they are marginalized and are not represented in parliament and they are not prepared to put up with marginalization.

Well fine, however when the PNC under Burnham marginalized this whole nation, when people could not carry out their own money, when they were denied the right to eat certain food, when a role of toilet tissue was a luxury the black people then did not oppose marginalization.

In spite of how many non -East Indian faces are in the present administration it is still seen as an East Indian government, just like it was in 1961 to 64.

Imagine marginalized people with expensive guns and shine boots killing others living in shacks and hovels.

Yours faithfully,

W P George
