Man denies using threatening language to wife

A 40-year-old man who allegedly abused his wife verbally was yesterday granted bail when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Mohamed Kassim of 130 Third Street, Alexander Village, East Bank Demerara pleaded not guilty to three charges of using threatening language.

It is alleged that on March 8, 2008 Kassim verbally abused his wife at their Alexander Village home.

Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle invited the couple to approach the bench and the man was subsequently placed on bail.

The matter continues on April 27 in Court Six.
