‘Curry Buns’ jailed on break-in charge

A 35-year-old man was sentenced to two years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to a charge of break and enter and larceny before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle in the Georgetown Magistrate’s court.

Raymond Dean called ‘Curry Buns’ of 24 River View, Ruimveldt, was charged with breaking into the home of Anjanie Sooniram and stealing $115,000 worth of household articles. None of the items was recovered. Sooniram left home on March 11 and when she returned the next day several articles were missing. She had left Dean to do work in her yard.

She reported the matter to the police and acting on information they picked up Dean who said he did steal the items. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
