Mayor’s Cup set to continue with explosive double header

Current Georgetown league champions Alpha United will clash with Mocha Champs in the first match billed to kick off at 18:00 pitting the best of Georgetown and East Bank Demerara.

Alpha will be spearheaded by Quincy Madramootoo, Sean Bishop, Andrew Murray Jr. and Gordon Henry.

Mocha’s response will come from Lyttleon Ramsey, Seon Hope and Garfield Jordan.

The second game of the double header card will feature losing Banks Premium Beer finalists Sunburst Camptown against the Guyana Defence Force at 20:00.

With three upsets already recorded in the competition as well as two matches going into extra time, football fans can expect an exciting evening as the teams move a step closer to winning the top prize of $500,000.

Camptown will be hard pressed once again and will be aming for a much improved performance following their tough penalty shootout win over Ann’s Grove after the teams were locked 3-3 at the end of regulation time.

The Army will once again be relying on their physical fitness.

National midfield player Troy Prescod, Lance Rolston, Dexter Mollyenaux and Telson McKinnon will lead Camptown’s challenge, while the GDF will be depending heavily on Dwight Peters, Seon Brewley, Stellon David and Desford Williams.

The other two semi-finalists will be decided on Sunday evening at the same venue with another double header feature.
