Region Three building, upgrading educational facilities

The Region Three administration intends to build and upgrade several primary schools and other projects intended to benefit children, at an estimated cost of $36 million this year.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release, extensions to the Vreed-en-Hoop and Windsor Forest primary schools, at an estimated cost of $7.8 million, top the region’s list of educational facilities that will be enhanced. Plans are also in train to complete the Santa Mission Primary School at an approximate cost of $8 million and build a dormitory at the Parika Salem Secondary School at a cost of $5.2 million.

The region also plans to construct two sanitary blocks; one at Vive La Force and the other at the Clemwood Primary at a total cost of $5 million. It is estimated that $1 million will be spent to build a trestle at Aliki. A similar structure will be built at Bagotville.

Meanwhile, under capital works, ramps will be built at Caria Caria and Morashee. The region also plans to build head teachers’ quarters at Eastern Hogg Island at an estimated cost of $5 million.
