Harry Dyett dies

Former ambassador and permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Harry Dyett has passed away.

Dyett, who served as ambassador to Brussels, died in London, England yesterday. He was in his late 70s.
The author of a number of publications, including ACP Diplomacy: the Caribbean Dimension, Dyett served his country in numerous capacities.

He began his career as a customs officer from where he moved into the economics field.

After leaving the foreign service, he was with the Guyana Volunteer Consultancy programme of which he was the second chairperson.
