Armed bandits grab over $250,000 in restaurant hold-up

Two armed men robbed the Seatown Chinese restaurant at Hinck Street, on Wednesday night escaping with more than $250,000. 

Police said the men entered the restaurant around 7 pm and held the owner and six patrons at gunpoint. They attacked the owner and relieved her of a licenced pistol with nine rounds along with US$800 and $70,000.

The patrons were robbed of a total of $167,000; three cellular phones and a wristwatch, a police press release said.
