Magistrate Geeta Chandan has sentenced two men to one year imprisonment each after finding them guilty of stealing electricity.
Ian Pydanna and Devon Beharry of Angoy’s Avenue were sentenced, in their absence, on Monday at the New Amsterdam Court. They were also fined $50,000 each.
The court heard that on April 20 workers of the Guyana Power and Light caught the men with illegal connections attached to their residence.
Adrian Anamayah served as prosecutor in the case.
