Church’s Chicken opens in NA

Berbicians turned out in their numbers to sample the latest taste in town when Church’s Chicken opened its doors in New Amsterdam (NA) on Sunday.

Customers dining at the newly opened Church’s Chicken in New Amsterdam. One customer told Stabroek News that the chicken is “tasty and the service is really good. I have no complaints so far and I just hope they keep it that way.” Another said, “I tasted the chicken before and I like it a lot. I am very happy that they opened a branch in NA because I can enjoy it more often now.”
The NA branch is the sixth in the country and the third in Berbice following the opening of other branches at Rosignol, West Berbice and at Number 78 Village, Corriverton. Items on the menu include spicy and original chicken, honey-butter biscuits, French fries, corn on the cob, spicy rice and mashed potatoes with gravy.

Gregory DeGannes, Director of Camex Limited which operates the franchise in Guyana told this newspaper that he “saw the need to have Church’s in New Amsterdam” because of the good response at the other two branches. He said he wanted to “erase the name Ancient County” from Berbice.

DeGannes said two senior staff from Georgetown were added to the NA staff roster. He said the company aims to maintain a high standard in terms of hygiene, quality and service.

DeGannes said too that Camex would be bringing Mario’s Pizzeria to Guyana in August; in time for Carifesta. He said subsequently the Pizzeria would be established at every Church’s branch, noting that the design already caters for it.
