The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) says the 42nd anniversary of independence is an opportunity to “recommit ourselves to the ideals of our fore-parents who worked hard to build” a free Guyana and be inspired by their commitments.
It added that Guyanese should not be distracted by forces which seek to stifle progress and fracture unity but be motivated by the occasion and sustain the vision of a stable and united Guyana.
Global and national challenges, it said, demand that “we unite and be committed to the national project of a democratic, safe and prosperous Guyana”.
