Business leaders should take President to task over attack on Yesu Persaud

Dear Editor,

I am shocked but not surprised at the President’s recent outburst which is an indication of his inability to handle the pressures of the Office of the President. I recall him launching a similar assault on former Auditor General Anand Goolsarran in a most aggressive manner when he asked for more staffing. As a matter of fact this followed a scathing report by the AG on accountability at various Government departments. We had the Mike Correia issue, the Stabroek News issue and recently his verbal assault on Gerry Gouveia.

I notice quite recently a leading businessman posing with various government officials as he launched his new venture. I bet he will not condemn Mr. Jagdeo on his assault on business guru Yesu Persaud simply because that businessman thinks that his business will be affected.

In conclusion all business leaders should take Mr. Jagdeo to task for his total lack of respect for one of the Caribbean’s leading businessmen and stand united otherwise there will be a continued assault on businesses and their owners who criticize the Government and its representatives.

Yours faithfully,
Robin Rogers
