GAWU ‘outraged’ by killings at Lindo Camp

The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) said it is outraged at the murder of eight miners at their camp in Lindo Valley, Berbice River.

In a press release GAWU said “this latest atrocity highlights the decadence to which some [persons] have descended into” though it still believes in the goodness of the majority of citizens.

The Union said though another blot has stained the society it is confident that justice, however delayed, will be served.

In the meantime GAWU extends its condolences to the men’s grieving relatives.
