East Bank accident victim in stable condition

Accident victim Leroy Nedd is in a stable condition at the in the open ward of the Georgetown Hospital. Nedd suffered a fractured right leg, fractured shoulder and numerous lacerations about his body. His friend Owen Adolph died as a result of injuries he received in the accident. He was the pillion rider on Nedd’s motor cycle.

When Stabroek News visited the hospital yesterday afternoon Nedd said he was in severe pain and could not give a clear recollection of what happened on Sunday morning. He said he was heading north on the East Bank road when the bus came out of nowhere and crashed into the side of his motorcycle.

Nedd recalled that he had been friends with Adolph for years. Adolph of 30 Middle Street, McDoom, East Bank Demerara was attached to a life support machine in the High Depen-dency Unit (HDU) of the Georgetown Hospital for several hours on Sunday before he died just after 2 pm.
Meanwhile the driver of the bus, a Mahaica Creek resident, is in police custody assisting with investigations.
