TCL launches ‘cement tent’ in local communities

The local operations of Trinidad Cement Ltd. (TCL) has launched an initiative designed to educate local builders and home-owners on the quality of TGI cement and on best practices in the use of cement.

The programme known as the “Cement Tent” aims at instructing users in the mixing of cement and block-making and is part of TCL’s after sales service that seeks to provide support for the local construction industry.

The local Cement Tent programme was conducted recently at Paradise on the East Coast Demerara by Trinidadian Cement Technologist Danny Jairam who told residents the proximity to the sea made it all the more important for the correct mix of cement since constant re-exposure to salt air could compromise concrete structures.

The TCL Cement Tent will also be visiting locations on the East Bank, West Coast Berbice, Rose Hall, Tuschen, Bartica, Parika and Linden.
