‘Mighty Bread’ wishes Carifesta success

Dear Editor
My name is Herman St Joseph Lowes, aka ‘Mighty Bread.’ I left Guyana in 1974. In 1972, when Guyana hosted the first Carifesta, I was the Calypso King of Guyana. Some may remember songs like Guyanese Unite, Road Safety, The Good Thing, New Community, Harry & Mary, etc. I was also the liaison person who was responsible for receiving and housing all the calypsonians who attended the festival. I responded to an application through the internet by the ministry responsible for the festival, but I haven’t gotten a response, I also contacted the Consul General’s Office  in Toronto Canada, which assured me that they would contact me as soon as the Consul had returned, but until now I have not heard from them. However, I would like my fans to know that all is going well with me here in Canada, and that I am still recording and performing internationally, and always making mention of Guyana during my appearances, having recently released my latest CD entitled Stop Cooking. I also wish the Carifesta Committee all the success for the festival, and you could be assured that my heart and soul will be with you all.
Yours faithfully,
HJ Lowes (aka Mighty Bread)
