An armed man and his accomplice on Saturday night robbed an ice cream van of $96,000 at South Ruimveldt.
According to a police press release the gunman accosted driver, Garcia McAlmont, 32, of Golden Grove Housing Scheme and 23-year-old salesgirl Jennifer Jones of West La Penitence on Cane View Avenue when they stopped to count the days sales.
The bandits walked up to motor van GKK 6504, held the occupants at gunpoint and robbed them. They then discharged a round before escaping.
Investigations are continuing.
