I am frustrated with the inadequate actions being taken to deal with the Mandela landfill site.
I wish to add my voice to the numerous complaints made about this public health disaster.
In a report published by the Stabroek News dated Wednesday, September 10, 2008, entitled ‘Major crisis looms from Princes St dump –NGOs’ it was stated that Mayor Hamilton Green had written the President, Mr Bharrat Jagdeo airing concerns over the waste situation and the delayed project “to get the thing moving.”
I am kindly asking your newspaper to do a follow-up story about President Jagdeo’s response, if any to Mr Green’s letter.
I suggest you send a copy of Mr Jermaine Grant’s letter (SN 10.9.08) to President Jagdeo for any comments he may wish to make.
