The President was right in his stance on the EPA

Dear Editor,

I hope by the time you receive this letter the Caribbean leaders will not have signed the EPA agreement. EU Trade Commis-sioner Peter Mandelson was always a political bully from the time he was in the Labour Party, and I can imagine the way he treated the ACP leaders during the negotiations. President Jagdeo was quite correct in not agreeing to sign the agreement.

If the other Caribbean leaders knew what they were letting their countries in for they would also refuse.

I enclose a copy of an article in the London Guardian by the columnist George Monbiot explaining that it is really Europe which would benefit from this agreement.

Yours faithfully,
F.A. Neblett
