Armed robbery victim: ‘that boy put me through an ordeal and a half’

“That boy put me through an ordeal and a half,” one of the virtual complainants in the matter against robbery under arms accused Theon Branche said.

The 18-year-old Annandale, East Coast Demerara resident who was slapped with thirteen counts of robbery under arms last Thursday, was once again remanded when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
On Monday he was also charged with escape from lawful custody and break and enter and larceny and pleaded not guilty to those charges.

It is alleged that Smith escaped from the Georgetown Prisons last Thursday.
Branche had pleaded not guilty to the charges of robbery under arms last week and was remanded to prison. According to reports, while Branche was being transported to the prison he escaped from police.
Some of the VCs in the matter are: Sheliza Boswick, Tiffany Johnson, Niketa Hussein, Shannon McLennon, Leah, Ping, Shelon August, Jullian Charles, Sandra Ramsarran, Sonia Jupiter, Natasha Nandalall, Nicola Persaud, Janelle Andrews and Vineta Ramchan.

A nervous Ramchan, who kept rubbing her arms and looked as though she was about to burst into tears told the court that she was terrified.

The matter was adjourned to October 27 because some of the matters against Branche have not yet been filed.

A police release had stated that the charges were laid following intense investigations into a series of armed robberies committed on business places and members of the public over the past few months in Georgetown

Some of the business places he allegedly robbed are Multi Tech Lab at New Market Street; Games Shop Arcade at the City Mall; a Games Shop at Albert Street, Alberttown; Munchkins at Lamaha Street; Rainbow Fashions at Camp and Bent streets; Genesis Pet Shop at North Road, Bourda; Tasha Intimate Bath and Body Boutique at Barr Street, Kitty; and Simply Gorgeous at Station Street, Kitty.
