Ken Baichoo told Stabroek News yesterday that he was rushed to the hospital where he has been admitted. His face was swollen and he was unable to open his eyes the first two days after the incident.

The father of four said he went home under the influence of alcohol around 6:30 pm and accidently knocked over the lamp. The man said the blaze caught first on his hair which was “big” and then spread to his face.

According to him he suffered second degree burns to his right ear and first degree burns to the other parts of his face.
