Dianand Ragu, 38, of No.62 village said that he was about to go down in his yard to use his pit latrine when he felt the lash behind his head. He immediately turned around and came face-to-face with a man with whom he had an argument about one month ago.

Without saying anything to him, the man who was apparently hiding in the yard, took a piece of wood he had in his hand and hit him on his face, injuring his eye and ran out of the yard. Ragu said he started to shout for his wife who raised an alarm.

The neighbours ran over and assisted in taking the father of two to the hospital. A report was made to the police and they are still trying to locate the man.
