A checker attached to Jetoo’s Lumber Yard located on Lombard Street was attacked and robbed of $1 million by two men just before 1 pm yesterday.
Chris Roopnarine was leaving the business premises with a bag containing the stated amount of money in cash and cheques, at approximately 12.50 pm, police said, when he was attacked by two men one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The men held him up and relieved him of the bag then escaped. Investigations are continuing.
