Courts hands over upgraded ‘Kiddies Park’ at zoo

Scores of students from the West Ruimveldt Primary School visited the zoological park on Friday, to witness the re-launch of the ‘Courts Kiddies Park’, provided by Courts Guyana Inc.  While there, they made full use of the facilities provided which includes monkey bars, swings, slides and see-saws. The ‘Kiddies Park’ was rehabilitated to the tune of $1.2 million and was handed over to the management and staff of the zoo.

Speaking at the simple handing over ceremony, Courts Country Manager, Lester Alvis expressed how happy the company was to give back to the community and to be a part of the social upbringing of children. He said the tangible contribution was “the beginning of greater things to come” as Courts remained committed to its goal of adding value to peoples lives everyday.

Peter Khatoo, manager of the zoological park, expressed gratitude to Courts Guyana Inc for the contribution and stated that “the park will not only play a role in the social well-being of children but stimulate their academic well-being also as children, upon visiting the zoo, will be able to grasp knowledge of animals.”

Yolanda Vasconcellos, general manager of the National Parks Commission, who was also present at the handing-over ceremony expressed heartfelt thanks to Courts.

The children were equally as vocal in their happiness at having upgraded facilities to use. The ‘Kiddies Park’ will be accessible to the public during the hours of 9:30 am to 5:30 pm daily.
