The PPP has expressed its sadness at the death of famed South African singer Miriam Makeba.
In a press release, the party saluted Makeba for her fight against apartheid, saying that she gave her time and money for the South African people, even when she was in exile. They also commended her for her musical contribution saying that even when she was in exile, she popularized African songs, especially those from South Africa.
The party extended its sympathy “to the people of South Africa and to struggling and oppressed peoples the world over”.
