Cabinet is finalising plans for the distribution of the $100 million that has been allocated to single parents in Guyana, Minister of Human Services and Social Security Priya Manickchand has said.
She said that as soon as this plan is finalised, a Government representative, will inform the National Assembly about the contents of the plan and related matters. However, she did not say whether this will happen before the end of the year.
Manickchand was responding to a question asked by PNCR-1G MP Volda Lawrence as to whether the funds allocated would be distributed before December 31, 2008 and how this money would be shared. The Minister’s response was presented in writing to members of the National Assembly at Wednesday‘s sitting.
