On bond for coffee

A man who was accused of stealing a bottle of coffee worth just under $3,000 was taken before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Sean Jackman of 119 Guyhoc Park pleaded not guilty to the charge of simple larceny when it was read to him by Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.
It is alleged that on April 28 Jackman stole a bottle of coffee from Fogarty’s on Water Street.

According to Jackman he was in the store and his daughter ran outside with the item. He explained to the court that he ran behind the child and employees from the store apprehended him.

Jackman was placed on a bond to keep the peace for 12 months.
