GSA serves off Bounty Farm Mash handicap today

The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) will begin its tournament season today when the ninth annual Bounty Farm sponsored Mash Handicap Squash Tournament gets underway at the Georgetown Club’s squash courts.

According a GSA press release, the tournament was designed to give every participant a fair chance of winning by handicapping the players according to their ability. They have assigned handicaps from as much as +14 points to as severe as -45 points.

The tournament serves off with the preliminary rounds today from 6pm while the main rounds of the tournament are scheduled to begin tomorrow at 6pm.

Keisha Jeffrey (+12) won the Open category last year after defeating Allan Downes (+12) in three sets while Nicholas Narain (-2) defeated Turhan Mohabeer (-10) to secure victory in the `A’ category.

The GSA in the release stated that it anticipated an exciting tournament as the possibility existed of former national champions Garfield Wiltshire and Regan Pollard participating in the tournament.

The tournament concludes on Saturday.
