When Guyana takes on Suriname in a return match of the FIFA 2010 World Cup qualifier at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence on Sunday from 15:30hrs  the venue could be like hell for the visitors.

Dynamic duo in local football Kashif Muhammed and Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major of the Kashif and Shangai Organization have been contracted by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) to organize and produce this event and yesterday the duo along with first vice president of the GFF Winston Callender, technical director of the Golden Jaguars Jamaal Shabbazz, Faizal Khan, UK Representative of the GFF, David Christopher of Blackheart Promotions in St Lucia, Andrew Sue-Kam-Ling also of Black Heart Promotions, Kavin Pearce and Frank `English’ Parris were at the venue making routine checks.

Kashif Muhammed The Kashif and Shanghai Organisation has drafted in the services of Christopher with whom they have been associated for the past six years whilst organizing the St. Lucia version of the Kashif and Shanghai annual football tournament.

“We have been managing the Beausejour Stadium which is a similar stadium to the Providence Stadium in St. Lucia for the past three years and we have done so successfully whilst playing our tournament there,” said Muhammad.

“Come Sunday, we want to give the Guyanese football fans a treat that would be on the tongue of many people years to come from now. We will be putting on a spectacle unlike any other that has occurred in the sporting fraternity of this country.”
Muhammad also told Stabroek Sport that their main focus on Sunday would be security.

“This is our high point and having staged our Kashif and Shanghai tournament at the Beausejour Stadium, we do know what to expect, thus emphasis will be placed on issues such as glass bottles, weapons, standees in the stands and even vending in the stands.”
Speaking with Stabroek Sport, Khan took the time to send out a challenge to the Guyanese football fans calling on them to bring out the noise in full force.
“On Sunday at 15:30hrs (3:30pm) I want Guyana to bring the noise.
“I want when the Surinamese stand at the half way line, they must feel as though they are in hell. The whole stadium must be decked out in the team’s colour which is gold.

“We must be making so much noise that it must be the most intimidating atmosphere the Surinamese have ever played in. Football has no colour and come Sunday, Guyanese need to put aside their difference and come out in their numbers to support their team,” said Khan.
“FIFA World Cup is the most recognized sport around the world and seeing that Trinidad and Tobago lost last night in their qualifying game, Guyana now has an excellent chance of making the finals. I would like to see the Guyanese come out in their numbers and support this team to a three-goal victory.”

Khan stated:“This event will serve as a dry run for CARIFESTA and the eyes of the Caribbean and the world would be on us here in Guyana, so let us show the Caribbean and the world alike that we can assist our team.”
