Guyana’s Honorary Consul in Barbados will make “certain inquiries” with the management of a chicken farm following the death of a Guyanese woman on Saturday at that facility.

Thirty-eight-year-old Bibi Hasim died after power to a poultry cleaning container was activated while she was inside.
In a press release Honorary Consul Norman Faria said the Bajan authorities are so far treating the death as a “tragic accident”. However, the release said Faria would be making inquiries especially regarding safety measures for operating the machine, with the management of the farm when he meets with them this week. He will also meet other Guyanese working at the St Lucy farm this week.

The release said too the deceased’s relatives have been notified of her death and plans are being made to ship the body to Guyana following a post mortem.
