Bus driver shot, ear bitten in robbery

A mini-bus driver was shot and had a piece of his ear bitten off last evening during a scuffle with gunmen who attacked him minutes after he drove into his yard. They later escaped with cash.

Lincoln Bristol, 69, of 273 A Field, Sophia was up to press time last night receiving treatment in the emergency room of the Georgetown Hospital. He sustained gunshot wounds to the left leg and abdomen.

According to information reaching Stabroek News the man had just arrived home when he was attacked by the two men.

A scuffle ensued and it was during this that the man was shot thrice and had a piece of his right ear bitten off by one of the men.

After snatching about $10, 000, the men fled the area and Bristol was rushed to the hospital.

This newspaper was told that the wounded man arrived at the medical institution at 10.45 pm and was conscious but bleeding and in severe pain.
