At a simple presentation ceremony held in the office of managing director of P&P Bish Panday on Wednesday, Panday presented Lowe with a cheque valued US$548, which will go towards purchasing her ticket.
According to a press release, Panday stated that he was happy to be supporting Lowe whom he has known for a very long time.
“She has done well whenever she goes out there to represent the country and I know that she will continue in the same vein, hence our contribution here today. I have known her for a very long time and I trust that she makes the whole of Guyana proud.”
Panday stated, however, that he was disappointed with the last minute rush by athletes to secure sponsorship whenever they have to travel.
“These things should be arranged in a timely manner. It disgusts me and I am disappointed to see athletes from various sporting disciplines, scrambling to obtain sponsorship at the last minute,” Panday stated.
In her response, Lowe who competed in the same tournament last year before she lost out to her compatriot Michelle John in the finals, said that she was very happy to receive the sponsorship and promised to do her best in representing Guyana while being an ambassador.
