In keeping with custom and practice, government is footing all expenses for Opposition Leader Robert Corbin’s treatment overseas, Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon said yesterday in response to queries from the media.

Corbin was taken by medivac to the US on Monday for continued medical attention. That expense and all hospital and other expenses are being covered by the administration.

Luncheon explained that other constitutional post holders have benefited in this regard.

Corbin had driven himself to the Woodlands Hospital on Saturday morning after he began experiencing chest pains.

He was transferred to the Caribbean Heart Institute (CHI) early Saturday evening where he was until Monday when he was air dashed to the US.

Corbin was flown to the US as he is still experiencing some discomfort in the form of pain to the chest. His wife, Carol, accompanied him.
