Accused bicycle thief on bail

A man was yesterday placed on $25,000 bail after pleading not guilty to a charge that he broke into the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and stole a bicycle.
Keith Thomas, 33, of 15 Hill Street, Albouystown, denied a break and enter charge when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on April 30 at Georgetown, Thomas broke and entered the DCC and stole a bike valued $10,000, belonging to Colin Joseph.

According to Police Prosecutor, Corporal Munilall Seetaram, the bicycle was recovered and is lodged at the Alberttown Police Station. The case was transferred to Court 6 for continuation on June 2.
