Seegobin returned as NAACIE General President

Following elections which were held on April 28th, 2009, V Seegobin was returned as General President of the National Association of Agricultural Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE) for the next three years.

According to a press release issued by NAACIE, the elections were held among its branches throughout the country.
The release noted that during the Annual General Meeting in January and February of this year, eight persons were nominated for the post of General President. Four of those persons had declined their nomination for the elections in which L. Warden (BOSAI), E Peters (GPL), Shurla Scott and the incumbent V Seegobin faced the electorate.

The body singled out Scott’s candidacy as it noted she created history as being the first woman to vie for the post of General President.

Persons were also elected as Special Representatives on the Executive Council for GuySuco following the elections,  the release stated.

They are field supervisors Junior Rambali, Niam Ali and Anwaz Ayube, nurses Rukmin Singh Shaw and Dion Abrams and sugar boilers Fizal Dildar, Nasrudin Hussain and Pascal Mangal.
