A Paramakatoi man was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday afternoon after sustaining a gun shot wound to the left ankle.

Anzie Marcello was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon. Reports are that Marcello was involved in an argument with a shopkeeper at Winiperu Backdam Thursday afternoon. During the argument the shopkeeper allegedly shot Marcello to the left ankle.

Stabroek News was unable to gather more details. However, a reliable source said that the shopkeeper was not taken into police custody.
