Goedfrey Thomas, also known as ‘Dogman’ 43, pleaded not guilty to fraudulent embezzlement when he on Thursday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court. It is alleged that between July 11 and 13, at Aranka, Thomas, of Silver Town, Wismar, Linden, being a clerk or servant to Latchman Narine, fraudulently embezzled $100,000 to his own use, the property of Narine.

In his defence, Thomas admitted that Narine had given him the money to conduct business on his behalf. The defendant then said that he had taken $10,000 from the money to pay for a hotel room and ‘sport’ with his friends, as it was his birthday. Thomas said he then went to sleep and when he woke up the balance of the money was missing. Thomas appeared unrepresented at court.

Narine did not attend court.

Thomas was ordered to appear in court on Thursday.
