Man fined $50,000 for dangerous driving

A man who drove his vehicle in a dangerous manner was yesterday fined $50,000 or six months imprisonment when he appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Kevin Belfield pleaded guilty to the charge of dangerous driving which stated that on July 14 at Georgetown he drove motorcar PJJ 5377 in a manner dangerous to the public.

The police prosecutor told the court that on the day in question, the defendant failed to halt his vehicle at a stop sign which was indicating ‘stop’.
