U.S. Embassy: All Guyanese required to present a passport

The United  States Embassy in Georgetown on Wednesday said it wished to remind all Guyanese citizens travelling to the United States that each person, including minor children, must present their own valid passport to the immigration officer at the U.S. port of entry.

And each person must also have a valid U.S. visa, the embassy stated in a press release.

A child however may continue to travel on a valid U.S. visa endorsed in a parent’s  passport provided that parent is travelling with  the child.

If a valid, unexpired U.S. visa is endorsed in a traveller’s expired passport, that visa is still valid to travel provided that the traveller has a new, valid, unexpired passport issued by his or her country of citizenship, the release said.

Persons requiring  further information may contact the Embassy’s Visa Inquiries Unit at 225-7965 or 225-7966 or email visageorge@ state.gov.
