Body of man found at Abary cattle ranch

The badly decomposed body of a man was on Sunday discovered by his employer at a cattle ranch located in the Abary Creek.

The gruesome discovery was made at around 1:30 pm by Nezamudeen Mohamed. According to reports, Mohamed, a business who resides at Bush Lot West Coast Berbice had gone into the ranch on Sunday where he discovered the lifeless body of the man whose name has be given only as Brian.

According to reports reaching this newspaper, the man had begun working with Mohamed only three months ago and lived on the ranch alone. Brian’s body was found lying in his bed.

Stabroek News understands that after making the discovery, the employer contacted the police. Ranks along with a doctor were subsequently deposited to the area. Because of the badly decomposed state of the man, the doctor was immediately forced to conduct a post-mortem examination (PME) on Brian’s remains.

The results of the PME according to reports were inconclusive.

The man who originally hails from Lethem was buried yesterday at the Bush Lot Cemetery in the absence of relatives who according to reports do not know of the man’s demise since no one has contact numbers for them.

Brian who was believed to have been the only person at the ranch at the time of his death was said by the police to have been a heavy drinker. His body bore no marks of violence.

Meanwhile, efforts by this newspaper to solicit a comment on the issue from Mohamed proved futile.
